Kenya  Accommodation

Hotels and lodges are officially graded in Kenya, each being given a classification from A to E and a star rating from 1 to 5. Anyone after a reasonable to high level of comfort should choose from classes A, B and C. If cheapness is of top priority, as well as D and E establishments, there are unclassified places where you can get a bed (and bugs) for just a few shillings. Generally, you can expect to pay upper-middle level European or American prices for the 5-star accommodation in Kenya, and a little less for the best of the beach hotels and lodges. Some of the best accommodation is on private farms and ranches, often located near, but outside, national parks and reserves.
