Jordan Accommodation
There are no bed and breakfasts and no motels in Jordans, but in Amman alone there are over 3,000 five-star beds and 2,500 four-star beds. All hotels will negotiate over prices, especially during the low season (October-March) and for longer occupancies; smaller hotels are particularly flexible. All hotels except one-star hotels charge an additional 10 percent government tax and 10 percent service charge. If you are a foreign resident in Jordan enquire about favourable rates. Many hotels have different rates for Jordanians and foreigners, but would charge foreign residents the same rate as Jordanians.
Unmarried couples may be prohibited from sharing a room. Proof of marriage may be required if the surnames on a couple's passports are not the same. Hotels may even complain if a man visits a woman's room for a short while.
Resthouses provide adequate and clean accommodation for the budget traveller, and tend to be very popular, so book ahead.
Camping
The only site that could qualify as a fully serviced campground is in Dana, south of Tafila. It is clean, and even has architecturally designed toilets that make a big impression on every visitor. The location is beautiful, inside the Nature Reserve.
